Trigger Lust

Two years ago, sniper Raylan lost most of his team on an operation, and he has been living out his days under the weight of having survived.

Now he’s a desk agent at the Office of Threat Assessment and Security (OTAS), but inwardly every day is spent craving death.

Then Corporal Emil Brown, the only other member of the team to make it out alive, goes missing.

While chasing down information, Raylan crosses paths with a man who brings danger down on him: “Michele Ansello.”

Having caught a thread suggesting Michele is tied to Emil’s disappearance, Raylan joins a new operation with him as the target.

Up until then, Raylan had no idea. How dangerous this man was, and…

“Darling. Keep that up and I really might kill you.”

“…….”

Raylan didn’t respond this time either. Whatever that touched in Michele, he couldn’t say. A moment later, Michele yanked him by the hair.

“Ngh!”

“You shouldn’t do that, sweetheart.”

Michele patted Raylan’s cheek. Then his hand slid down to Raylan’s throat. He stroked the scarred skin there, and then, casually, closed his grip.

The huge hand tightened around Raylan’s neck. Raylan screwed his eyes shut. His breath cut off, and the taste of metal rose in his throat. Every time he tried to fight the pressure, the only thing that answered was the loud rattle of chains.

The familiar sensation of blacking out crept in. So did the guilt he’d been trying to forget. In his flickering vision he saw the ghosts of Sergeant Carter and Emil.

‘Forgive me. I didn’t want this either. I-I…….’

Raylan shook violently and tried to claw at his throat, but his hands were cuffed and wouldn’t move. Even the lunge he couldn’t hold back, aimed at the man in front of him, came to nothing.

Michele pinned him down without effort, then kissed his cheek as if he were sorry about it.

“You can’t refuse me.”
