“Eunhu?”

Lee Jinseong spotted Seon Eunhu driving me into a corner and called out, but Seon Eunhu didn’t spare him a single glance. The brown eyes looked at me with the momentum to crush me, and me alone.

“Lee Jinseong, you go on ahead. I’ll talk with this kid a bit and catch up.”

“Hey, what’s with you?”

Sensing the ominous mood, Lee Jinseong tried to soothe him. Only then did Seon Eunhu’s gaze seem to fall away from me, but he gave Lee Jinseong a short shake of his head and coldly turned back down to me.

“I just have something to talk about for a sec. Go ahead first.”

What on earth did I do wrong for him to act like this? Cowed by Seon Eunhu’s firm attitude, I stood with my hands clasped, and Lee Jinseong let out a long sigh. The two of them seemed close, so I prayed desperately that Lee Jinseong would muster a little more energy and hold Seon Eunhu back.

That’s when Lee Jinseong stepped in close to Seon Eunhu and opened his mouth. Because the distance was near, his whisper reached me too.

“He’s a pitiful kid. Don’t be too hard on him.”

Then, with a “Come quick,” he turned and started off.

In this situation, I could only blankly watch the one savior who might rescue me grow distant.

“Come here. Let’s sit and talk.”

Seon Eunhu led the way to the bench in front of the department building.

Having no choice, I hesitantly followed his large frame, and when my eyes met his I quickly picked up my pace. It felt like I was heading off to get scolded for doing something wrong, but not being able to guess the reason made it so uncomfortable.

“You do something wrong to me?”

“What?”

At the low question, I lifted my head.

Seon Eunhu, whose drooping eye-corners should have made him look mild yet who somehow carried a sharp impression, was waiting for an answer.

I gave a faint shake of my head. No matter how I thought about it, the only thing I’d done wrong to Seon Eunhu seemed to be sending his name as “Go Taering”...

Just then Seon Eunhu let out a snort of a laugh. Having laughed so blandly it vanished without a trace in an instant, he nodded.

“Right. You didn’t do anything wrong, so no need to be that scared. I just suddenly looked at you and thought I’d like to stick with my own kind, so I called you over. So let’s not get tangled up with each other and get along nicely. Birds, of a feather.”

As he said “birds of a feather,” Seon Eunhu grouped them off with his fingers. He pointed at the direction Lee Jinseong had disappeared and at himself, then next pointed in turn at me and the department building entrance. A little time had passed, but since it was right after the talk about An Seunggyu, pointing at the department building felt like it meant An Seunggyu.

Did he just lump me and An Seunggyu together as birds of a feather?

Without even giving me room to raise the question, the low, clear voice went on.

“But no matter how hard we try not to get tangled up, in the course of school life we might unavoidably bump into each other, right? We’ve even got one overlapping class. So I thought up a few ways for us to get along. Listen carefully and take your pick.”

“First,” Seon Eunhu said, raising his index finger.

I stopped breathing, afraid my breath might reach Seon Eunhu as he leaned his upper body close. Maybe because a handsome face filled my whole view, my heart, usually so lacking in presence, thumped and made a racket.

Even at a distance already close enough, Seon Eunhu lowered his voice as if telling a secret.

“From now on, you don’t look at me.”

“...What?”

“Don’t greet me, don’t act like you know me. We thoroughly ignore each other. How about it. Easy, right?”

“...”

“Next, the second.”

Seon Eunhu spread two fingers. And of the capital V that bloomed from his hand, he brought the index finger, jutting straight on the diagonal, to his lower lip. Seeing his gaze drift off into empty air, it seemed he was only now pondering what a second method might be.

Is there some element in an alpha’s pheromones that renders a beta helpless? Even after being told to my face not to look at him, I only stared dumbly at his fingertip. To be precise, my gaze was stolen by the lips gathered plump where the index finger pressed them. Red and luscious, they were just like cherries.

“Hmm... I dunno. Guess there’s only the one?”

Seon Eunhu, who’d been mulling it over, folded his fingers and spoke. As if there were no help for it, he gave a shrug and scrunched the bridge of his nose.

“Guess this is the only way we can get along. You’ll do that for me, won’t you?”

Absolutely never look at him. Emphasizing it again, Seon Eunhu pulled the corners of his mouth into a long smile. His gentle attitude and tone nearly had me mistaking it for a kind proposal. It was the first time I’d ever been asked to sever ties so softly, so I floundered, not knowing how to react. Out of the confusion, what I came out with was a decidedly commonsense question.

“...Why?”

“Why, you ask.”

And Seon Eunhu answered as if it were obvious too.

“I like women.”

“...”

“I don’t get hard for a beta with a dick.”

At that low declaration, I lost my words. Because I didn’t know what he wanted me to do about it. Was I supposed to agree that I was the same? But why did that become a reason we had to pretend not to know each other? I couldn’t understand the cause and effect of what Seon Eunhu was saying at all.

Maybe my reaction was unexpected, because Seon Eunhu, who’d been staring, tilted his head. Well then, what reaction was he expecting? Was I supposed to applaud or something?

Ah.

Then, at some point, I realized.

This person must be a piece of shit.

“What?”

“What?”

“What is it.”

“...It’s nothing.”

...What the heck. Anyway, seeing as he didn’t even know my name, Seon Eunhu clearly didn’t know me well, and yet he puts on this contemptuous face and needlessly scares me with all that “let’s talk separately” business. It was natural to doubt his character. Since I don’t seem to have friends and go around quietly on my own, I must have looked like an easy mark.

Maybe it’s from being in the military, but he sure picked a target with a good eye. Because I, who hate friction, was a pacifist, the type to flatten right out however hard you press down on me.

I was just a little let down, though. I’d finally met someone I liked for once, and his personality’s like shit. If you’re born an alpha with all that popularity, you ought to use your heart a little more kindly, but watching him send off a friend and come sit here just to pick a fight with me, whose only crime was one typo, his personality seemed seriously broken, and not in the ordinary way. Even now, the way he keeps staring like he wants a staring contest makes him look stubborn too. Sheesh, laughing again like it’s absurd? The one who should be more absurd is over here.

But I had neither the courage nor the energy to argue. Clearly I was the one being picked on, yet I didn’t want to go out of my way to stand up to a senior. It’s all pointless anyway, so what’s the use of an emotional fight. There was no reason to fire back at the conflict.

“Okay. I’ll try.”

I answered, embracing everything, yet Seon Eunhu only watched blankly, like a spectator. Did he live abroad or something? He kept peering into my eyes in a way that was hard to bear.

Then, at some point, he let a snicker slip.

“There’s a lot packed into that one answer.”

“What? I didn’t pack anything in.”

“Forget it. Anyway, let’s never run into each other again. Take care.”

His business was apparently done there, because Seon Eunhu got up first. He was so tall that meeting his eyes meant craning my head all the way up. For a petty guy like this, it was an angle where just looking up at him could be mistaken for a glare, so I quickly lowered my gaze. As it happened, I came face to face with his crotch.

Stored on the right, huh.

Gazing at the thick silhouette with a lukewarm eye, I waited for Seon Eunhu to hurry off. But at that moment,

“Hey.”

Seon Eunhu called me and looked down at a slant.

Whether or not I was startled enough by the unexpected call to jolt my shoulders, revulsion clung to the glaring eyes. Before I could even guess why he’d gotten angrier in the meantime, Seon Eunhu’s fierce face came near my ear.

“If you keep the promise well, as a reward I’ll show you my lower half once.”

“...What?”

“It just so happens showing off my dick size is a hobby of mine. Well then, bye.”

With those words as the finale, Seon Eunhu left. I dumbly watched the back of the man striding off on long legs for a good while. I was engulfed in such enormous shock that I forgot even to blink.

My god... is there really a filthy pervert bastard like that... Saying he’d show me his lower half as a reward... And his hobby is what? Showing off his dick size...?

I doubted my ears, but they were definitely words that had come out of Seon Eunhu’s mouth.

I’d thought “don’t look at me, don’t greet me” meant he wanted to cut ties, but it turns out the intent was to show me his lower half...

Even the part where he framed that act as “giving a reward” was the passage that told me Seon Eunhu was a serious pervert.

Wait, is the sculpture department full of nothing but perverts?

At least An Seunggyu made it so obvious that his reputation was bad, but Seon Eunhu had no such image at all, so the shock was even greater.

I sat there in turmoil for a good while, not even realizing my shift was right around the corner.

It seems I’ve been snagged by the wrong pervert alpha...
